
Gordon Russell
Designer and furniture maker Sir Gordon Russell CBE was highly influential within British design, coming to prominence in the 1920’s and being instrumental in WWII for developing ‘Utility Furniture’. As the first chairman of the Crafts Council, its’ no surprise he designed for some of the best retail names such as Heals and attracted other designers to work for him under Russell of Broadway, such as David Booth who designed the iconic Helix sideboard.
