Before the era of fully integrated kitchens, the 1950’s saw a fresh approach introducing colour and chrome, Formica and plastics. Companies such as Kandya, Hygena and Mary Rose brought excitement into the kitchen with patterned Formica tables, chairs on tubular legs, vinyl topped stools and freestanding larder units in bright colours and pastel shades.
