Five ‘Hillestak’ chairs and a table designed by Robin Day for Hille

£2,800.00

A Set of 5 first generation Hillestak chairs and a matching table, designed by Robin Day for Hille in the 1950’s. The chairs made from steam bent ply wood with a walnut veneer on a beech frame.
These began as cheap to produce furniture being used for libraries and schools as both tables and chairs stack. With hard use in these types of institutions there aren’t a huge amount left. Particularly the tables.

These are in worn condition. The table has had a few scrapes and some small filled areas, we have resurfaced the table to give it durability. There is a worn patch on the side of the table (photographed) the chairs have some scrapes and dark stains on bottom of legs, mild bangs etc, one chair has had the base drilled and filled.
