ON HOLD .A Danish ‘flat pack’ sofa by Peter Hvidt and Orla Molgaard Nielsen for France and Daverkosen

A real gem of a mid-century Danish sofa designed by Peter Hvidt & Orla Molgaard Nielsen for leading manufacturers France and Daverkosen, Denmark. The frame is in stained beech and is completely demountable. It slots together from just four pieces and then the seat and back fit into place. France and Daverkosen pioneered this approach to furniture for export and the pieces would be easily assembled in the furniture showroom. We have cleaned the framework and replaced the upholstery as close as possible to the original which was a striped flat-weave fabric, using a herringbone hemp/cotton weave. In very good condition.
